A striking, large metal oil lamp made by Brunner & Co in Vienna, Austria likely around the late 1800's.
This lamp features a lighter white metal removable font that lifts away from its spelter base for easy refuelling.
The ornate metal base features two horizontal bands of intricate patterns, the first (and largest) band has three equally spaced lion heads. The base and column also come apart in two pieces, making it possible to disassemble and pack.
Wick control knob marked Brunner & Co Wien. Burner cap marked Austrian Make Favorit Lamp. The font cap is unmarked.
Condition: used. Removable lamp reservoir is is not watertight due to dents and cracks in the metal. Crack in lip of upper stem to base joint (stability unaffected). See photos for details.
