A very fine and rare massive double barrelled 8 bore sporting gun made by W & C SCOTT & SON. Circa 1840-1850. 33 inch barrels. The barrels retaining much original browned finish and engraved on top LONDON FINE TWIST. The locks also with much original colour case hardening, both engraved W. & C. SCOTT & SON. The stock very finely chequered at the wrist, and showing no sign of wear or use. Complete with its original brass tipped wooden ramrod of large proportions. No dings or dents in the barrels. The bores like new internally. The original percussion hammers are functioning perfectly with both half and full cock working just like new. The barrels are each marked underneath with british proof marks, 8 and bp in scrolled letering. This gun is in absolutely superb condition inside and out. Weight 12.2 pounds. Overall length 50 inches. Ref 9156.
